Oslavje Riserva Ivana 1997 English

Riserva FronteWine composition: 20% Pinot Grigio, 40% Chardonnay and 40% Sauvignon.

 

Vintage: only hand-made vintage in baskets, from September 20th to October 15th. This wine is made from the best Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay and Sauvignon grapes.

 

Wine-making: After taking off the grape stalks, the grape is put in oak vats, where maceration is held without any temperature control and with the natural yeasts on the skin of the berries. Maceration goes on until the grape sugars are exhausted (about 20 days).

 

Cask aging: After the racking, the wine lies for about 24 months in casks which were alredy used before: in the meantime more than one racking could be necessary.

During this process no type of chemical preservative is added to the wine.

 

Racking in bottles: Racking was held without any filtration or clarification, in September 1999, in 0,75 l and 0,50 l bottles, with no preservatives added. Sulphur dioxide traces in our wines are produced during fermentation by an all-natural process.

Total acidity :6.7 g/l

 

Alcohol: 14.30% vol

 

Total sulphur dioxide: 2 mg/l

 

Dry extracts: 19.60 g/l

ORGANOLEPTIC DESCRIPTION:

 

Colour: dark yellow with gold nuances.

 

Fragrance: First opened, the bread crust predominate, then the dried and candied fruits. It is a wine that continually evolves in the glass.

 

Taste: ample, salty, perceiving, balanced and very persistent. In the aftertaste this wine is spicy with undernotes of wild peach
